Healing Hearts 2019 - Celebrating W&A's 10-year-Anniversary

On Friday Dec. 13th 2019, Word and Action presented one of its yearly signature events “Healing Hearts.” The purpose of the Healing Hearts Gala is to raise awareness in order to decrease the occurrence of child sexual abuse and Human Trafficking in our community. We aim at engaging stakeholders, decision makers, social organizations, and our community at large in raising consciousness about this “epidemic” that is impacting countless families. Most importantly, we want to “Let the Child-victims Know That They are not Alone.” This year event was a success because of you. Thank you!
The 5th Annual UnMasked Celebration - 2017
This year W&A was presented a Florida Senate Proclamation recognizing the 28th of April as "UnMasked Celebration Day" in the entire state. We want to thank Senator Daphne Campbell, of Florida Senate District 38 for her leadership and recognition of the positive contribution that Word and Action is making in our community in the U.S. and in Haiti. We will continue to celebrate the courage of those who survive the trauma of child sexual abuse. This year celebration is another testimony of our relentless fight against this epidemic that is affecting our community. We want to wholeheartedly thank all who have contributed and made UnMasked a great success.

A Celebration of Life
Word and Action proudly launched
A Celebration of Life event, which was hosted for the first time in Manhattan, NY in March 2011. That wonderful idea was brought by W&A’s former Development Director, Myrdith McCormack.
More than 150 people have attended our event. "A Celebration of Life" is a way to let the child-victims know they are not alone.
Healing Hearts
Healing Hearts is one of Word and Action's signature events hosted every year to raise awareness about child sexual abuse. Also, it is a way for us to raise funds in order to implement our Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Program in Miami Dade and Broward County.
UnMasked - 2015
UnMasked is an evening of courage and light -victims, every day people and aid workers who come together to raise awareness of child sexual abuse. It is also an evening to celebrate the strength, courage, and resilience of the survivors.
Silent Cries Haiti Gala
​​The Silent Cries Haiti Gala is a prestigeous fundraising event that aims to raise awareness about child sexual abuse in Haiti.
Through its first annual Silent Cries Haiti Gala, W&A was able to raise consciousness about the epidemic of child sexual abuse in Haiti. More then 200 participants were able to contribute to our efforts.
